Terms of Use
Last updated: July 11, 2026 · Effective: July 11, 2026 · Privacy Policy
By downloading or using Anchor (the "app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Anchor is made by SnapSprint AI Private Limited, an Indian private limited company ("we", "us"), and is distributed worldwide through Apple's App Store.
What Anchor is, and isn't
Anchor is a supportive AI companion for everyday stress and hard moments. It is not therapy, counseling, medical or mental-health advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a crisis or emergency service. It does not replace care from a qualified professional. You are interacting with an AI system, not a human. This disclosure is required under the EU AI Act (Article 52) and similar laws in other jurisdictions.
SnapSprint AI Private Limited, its employees, and its contractors are not licensed therapists, psychologists, counselors, psychiatrists, social workers, or any other type of mental health or medical professional. Nothing in the app, its responses, or any communication from us constitutes a professional therapeutic or clinical relationship. No such relationship is formed by your use of Anchor. Anchor does not constitute telemedicine, telehealth, or a regulated health service under any applicable law, including India's Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020.
If you are in danger, experiencing a psychiatric emergency, or considering harming yourself or others, stop using this app and immediately call your local emergency number. For crisis support, the in-app helpline card connects you to findahelpline.com, a professionally maintained directory of free, confidential crisis lines in over 175 countries, matched to your region. The helpline card is always one tap away and always free, it is never gated behind a subscription or consent toggle.
Anchor's crisis detection is a safety net designed to surface helpline information. It combines an on-device keyword check with, when AI is enabled, a brief AI safety check (via Google Gemini) that assesses risk so the helpline can appear for phrasing the keyword check alone would miss. It is not a clinical assessment tool, does not guarantee detection of all crisis signals, and you must not rely on it as a substitute for contacting emergency services. Anchor follows safe messaging guidelines based on resources from the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) and similar authorities; however, we make no warranty that AI responses will always comply with those guidelines. Our liability for any crisis-related outcome is governed by the Limitation of Liability section below, subject to the mandatory law carve-outs stated there.
Eligibility (18+)
Anchor is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use Anchor; the in-app consent you give before AI features work includes confirming this. By using the app, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate. If you are under 18, you must not use Anchor. If you are a parent or guardian and believe someone under 18 has been using the app, contact us at privacy@snapsprint.org and see the Privacy Policy for how we delete their data.
AI-generated content and assumption of risk
Anchor's responses are generated by an AI model (Google's Gemini) via Firebase AI Logic. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, or simply not right for your situation. You assume full responsibility for how you interpret and act on any content the app produces. Do not rely on Anchor for medical, psychiatric, legal, financial, safety, or any other professional decision. We expressly disclaim all liability for any action taken or not taken based on the app's responses.
By using Anchor, you acknowledge and accept that:
- AI responses are not a substitute for professional mental health care;
- the app cannot assess or respond to genuine psychiatric emergencies;
- emotional support from an AI carries inherent limitations and risks; and
- you use the app at your own risk and with full awareness of these limitations.
Per Apple's App Store guideline 5.1.2(i), Anchor asks for your consent before sending any of your messages to Google for processing. You can revoke that consent at any time from Settings › AI replies via Google Gemini; the app continues to work for on-device features (breathing, grounding, check-ins) when AI is off. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that occurred while consent was active.
If you turn on "Speak replies" (off by default, in Settings › Privacy & Data), Anchor voices its replies aloud using Google's Cloud Text-to-Speech and Vertex AI speech services. Only the text of Anchor's own reply is sent to generate the audio; your own words and any recording of your voice are never sent, and the generated audio is not stored. You can turn this off at any time. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Acceptable use
- Don't use Anchor to harm yourself or others, or to do anything unlawful.
- Don't attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service or its providers (Apple, Google).
- Don't submit other people's private information without their consent.
- Don't use the app to harass, defame, or impersonate any person, or to circumvent Apple's, Google's, or our safety systems.
Your content and memory
What you share stays yours. To provide the service, your messages are processed by Google Gemini, both by the app and by our own secure backend, which distills a private summary ("memory") that is stored for you. By default the raw conversation turns are transient and deleted once distilled. If you opt in to "Remember our conversations" in Settings, your conversations are retained so you can read and search them and so Anchor can recall and understand you over time, kept until you delete them. Separately, if you opt in to "Help improve Anchor" in Settings (off by default, and distinct from your AI consent and "Remember our conversations"), you permit our authorised team to keep your conversations for 30 days and read them to find and fix problems and improve the app; this is never used to train AI models, never sold, and never used for advertising, and you can turn it off any time. You can read and delete your memory and history (a single conversation, all of it, or everything Anchor has learned) at any time from Settings, export a full copy of your data from Settings › Account › Export my data, and delete your account and all associated data from Settings › Account. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
Diagnostics & analytics
To keep the app stable and improve it where it falls short, we use PostHog and Firebase Analytics for anonymous product analytics (on by default outside the EU/EEA/UK with an off switch in Settings; off by default and strictly opt-in within the EU/EEA/UK), Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics, and Firebase Performance Monitoring for app speed (both opt-out, on in release). PostHog also collects tap-pattern data for rage-click detection and, under the same regional default, a masked session recording that is paused on the conversation, vent, and crisis screens and on the onboarding interview screens that display your typed answers, so it never captures your messages or crisis content. None of these ever send your message text, your name, or anything you check in about. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is never collected, so iOS does not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt. Each toggle lives at Settings › Privacy & Data, and the full mechanics, including the PostHog and Firebase processor relationships, are in the Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions (Anchor Standard & Pro)
Anchor is free to start: you get the calming exercises, check-ins, and free conversations that refresh through the day (currently up to 3 full conversations per rolling 3-hour window), plus crisis support, which is always free on every tier. Paid tiers add memory across sessions, larger conversation pools, and voice replies:
- Anchor Standard, memory across sessions, a pool of 300 full conversations per month, and 30 voice-reply minutes per month. US$9.99/week, US$34.99/month, or US$69.99/year.
- Anchor Pro, everything in Standard with substantially more room, plus our best AI model: 1,000 full conversations per month and 100 voice-reply minutes per month. US$24.99/week, US$59.99/month, or US$149.99/year.
When a free window or a paid monthly pool is used up, the conversation continues on a lighter AI model rather than stopping mid-thought; voice replies pause until the pool refreshes. To protect the service, pools are also subject to a reasonable daily fair-use limit, at that limit, chat likewise continues on the lighter model, never a hard stop. Annual plans include a larger monthly pool (equivalent to 15 months of allowance released across 12 months). You can also buy a one-time conversation pack (a non-renewing consumable) to add full conversations immediately: current US sizes are 15 ($3.99), 40 ($8.99), 100 ($18.99), and 300 ($44.99). Yearly plans include a 7-day free trial (weekly and monthly plans have no trial); trial eligibility is determined by Apple and is generally available only the first time you subscribe. You can cancel any time during the trial at no cost. Prices in your local currency are shown in the app and on the App Store; Apple sets the exact local price based on its tier system, and current prices are always displayed on the purchase sheet before you confirm.
Apple is the merchant of record. All payments are processed by Apple under the App Store Terms of Service. Subscriptions are auto-renewing: payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and renews automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged the renewal price within 24 hours prior to the end of the period. Manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions at any time.
Refunds & cancellation: refunds for paid subscriptions are governed by Apple's refund policy, see reportaproblem.apple.com. Deleting the app does not cancel an auto-renewing subscription; you must cancel it from your Apple Account.
Tier upgrades: if you upgrade mid-cycle (for example from Standard to Pro), Apple credits the unused portion of your current plan toward the new purchase and switches you immediately. The App Store purchase sheet shows the exact amount before you confirm. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal date via Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. One-time conversation packs are non-renewing consumables and are not refundable once the added conversations are used; unused pack credits are handled per Apple's standard refund policy.
If we change subscription pricing or terms, we will give you at least 30 days' notice in the app and through Apple's standard mechanisms, and you will have the option to cancel before the new price takes effect.
Apple-required subscription disclosure
Gift codes and invites (Give Anchor)
Anchor may let you give another adult a limited free month by creating a gift code. Gift codes, invites, and any rewards are a promotional program we run at our discretion, and the following terms apply:
- What a gift code is. A valid, unredeemed code grants the recipient a one-time 30-day full-access entitlement managed within Anchor. It is not an Apple subscription and not an Apple gift or offer code: no payment is taken from the recipient, nothing auto-renews, and the free access simply ends after 30 days unless the recipient chooses to subscribe through Apple.
- Single use, no cash value, non-transferable for value. Each code is one-time and tied to one account. Codes and any reward credits have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for money, and may not be sold, auctioned, or traded. A code may expire if it is not redeemed (currently within 90 days of creation).
- Eligibility, and one gift per person. Both the sender and the recipient must be 18 or older and bound by these Terms. You may redeem at most one gift as a new recipient, and you may not redeem your own codes or any code obtained through fraud, automation, or abuse.
- Thank-you rewards are promotional and may be limited. If your gift is redeemed, or a person you invited later subscribes, we may add bonus conversation credits to your account as a thank-you. These rewards are a discretionary promotion: they may be capped (including a limit on how many we grant in a given period), withheld where we detect abuse, and changed or discontinued at any time, and they may be reversed if the underlying subscription is refunded or reversed or if a redemption is later found to be fraudulent. Bonus credits have no cash value.
- We may change or end the program. We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue gifting, invites, and rewards at any time, and we may void codes or reverse credits obtained in violation of these Terms.
Crisis support and the in-app helpline card remain always free for everyone and are never affected by gifting, invites, rewards, or any usage limit.
Sign in with Apple
If you choose Sign in with Apple from Settings › Account, your private memory is linked to your Apple ID for backup and cross-device sync only. You may revoke this link at any time from Settings on iOS › Apple Account › Sign-In with Apple or by deleting your account in Anchor. Deleting your account permanently removes the linked memory.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SnapSprint AI Private Limited and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your misuse of or unauthorized access to Anchor; (b) your material violation of any provision of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right; or (d) any claim that your use of Anchor caused damage to a third party through your own actions. This indemnification obligation survives termination of these Terms and your use of the app. Nothing in this clause limits or waives any statutory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country or region of residence, including rights that cannot be excluded by contract under EU, UK, Australian, or other applicable consumer protection law.
Force majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, earthquakes, outages or disruptions of third-party services (including Apple's App Store, Google Firebase, Google Gemini, or other infrastructure providers), internet or network failures, or changes in law or regulation. During any such event, our obligations under these Terms are suspended for as long as the force majeure event continues.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the AI's content will be accurate or suitable.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we (and our affiliates, suppliers, and licensors) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of the app. Our total aggregate liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud).
Apple's role (EULA acknowledgement)
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and SnapSprint AI Private Limited, not with Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them. To the extent of any conflict between these Terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the Apple EULA governs the use of the app on Apple-branded devices.
Termination
You can stop using Anchor at any time by deleting the app and, if you subscribed, cancelling the subscription in your Apple Account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the app in a way that risks harm to you, others, or our providers.
Governing law & disputes
Consumer mandatory protections apply first. Regardless of the governing law chosen below, if you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country or region of habitual residence apply to your use of Anchor to the extent they cannot be excluded or derogated from by contract. Nothing in these Terms overrides those protections.
EU and UK consumers: Mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of habitual residence apply under the Rome I Regulation (EU) 593/2008 and its UK equivalent. You retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
Australian consumers: Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition, implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified.
Subject to the above: These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any remaining dispute.
All users: We encourage you to contact us at support@snapsprint.org before initiating any formal dispute. We will make a genuine effort to resolve concerns informally within 30 days.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms continue in full force and effect.
Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SnapSprint AI Private Limited regarding Anchor and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, negotiations, and discussions, whether oral or written, between the parties relating to the subject matter herein. No oral or written representation not contained in these Terms will be binding on either party.
Changes
We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and, for meaningful changes, note it in the app before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
